A Williamson County child is making a difference in the lives of hundreds of other children, and he's only 1 year old.
Cooper Cook turned 1 Tuesday. Ten months ago, his parents weren't sure this day would come.
"To get to this day is a real mile marker for us," said Cooper's mother, Missy.
When Cooper was 3 months old, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Doctors found a tumor the size of a tangerine below his right ear.
Last week, he got his best checkup yet.
"It was the best MRI they've seen for him, and there was no sign of anything right now," said Missy Cook. "That's the first time we've had an MRI and gotten good news."
Last Saturday, the Cooks celebrated the good news, Cooper's first birthday and the launch of the Cooper Trooper Foundation to help siblings of children who are diagnosed with cancer.
