At Vanderbilt Children's Hospital some of the sickest patients got to enjoy a prom of their own Thursday evening.
Children of all ages, with all types of cancer, got out of there rooms to have a little fun.
A staff member came up with the idea for the party after one of the teenagers at the hospital missed his prom.
"It's come together in 48 hours," said prom organizer Sara Reynolds. "Earlier this week his mom told me about how he missed his prom and how he was upset, so I got the idea."
Organizers transformed a patio at the hospital to make a night that everyone would remember.
"I'm excited to be here and to get outside and I'm going home tomorrow. I've been here a month," said patient Cara Roman.
