The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team once again will raise money for cancer research when it tips at 1 p.m. Sunday against North Texas inside the Murphy Center. The Lady Raiders are partnering with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as part of its Pink Zone" initiative by wearing pink jerseys against the Mean Green.
Last season, the Blue Raiders wore the pink jerseys during the home Western Kentucky game Feb. 17. The team has plans once again to conduct an auction of the game-worn jerseys immediately following the conclusion of the game. Six of the team's jerseys will be available during the auction.
The team raised $18,000 last season, which was split between the WBCA/Kay Yow Cancer Fund and Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
