Look for skater and middle Tennessee cancer survivor Scott Hamilton's book on January 6, 2009:
To coincide with the 25th anniversary of his most famous victory, Olympic champion ice skater Scott Hamilton, 50, will release a book, The Great Eight: How to be Happy (Even When You Have Every Reason to be Miserable) on Jan. 6. In 1984, he won a gold medal at the Olympics in Sarajevo.
The Williamson County resident shares behind-the-scenes stories from the skating world and insights into his struggles with testicular cancer and a brain tumor. (On the bright side, he has one of the greatest wives in the world.) He'll describe his eight fundamental secrets to finding happiness no matter what happens in your life.
"Skating taught me how to be happy," he says in a release. "I have always kept these eight as my own private, personal secrets that I practiced daily with repetition, focus and discipline. Now I want to share them with the world."
