Christmas Tree Honors Cancer Survivors and Camp Bluebird in Jackson, TN

In the gift shop lobby of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, a 7-foot Christmas tree stands near the elevators, adorned with blue lights and bluebird ornaments.

The tree's lights were turned on Thursday for the annual Bluebird Tree Lighting Ceremony. West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation lights the tree each year in remembrance of those who have been lost to cancer and in honor of those who have struggled with the disease.

Anyone can make a donation in honor of someone, and the money goes toward Camp Bluebird, said Richard Parks, CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare. The camp is for adults with cancer and cancer survivors.
