Susan G. Komen for the Cure – Greater Nashville Affiliate is pleased to announce the opening of our Request for Applications for the 2009 Grant Cycle. All applications are due no later than 12/31/2009. We will be hosting a Potential Grantee Q&A on Monday, December 1…it will be in the evening. Exact time & place are TBA, but please hold the date.
As you know, Komen’s promise is, “To Save Lives and End Breast Cancer FOREVER but empowering people, ensuring quality care for all, and energizing sciences to find the cure.” We are looking for grant applications that will help us to fulfill this promise. We are always looking for the following based on our Community Profile & Statement of Needs:
- Ways to reach out to & educate the Latino community
- Ways to reach out to & educate the African American Community
- Ways to reach aging women
- Ways to increase the percentages of women in our service area who receive mammograms (mobile mammography)
- Ways to increase access to care (transportation, mobile mammograms, breast health clinics, etc.)
- Support groups
- …we are open to other ideas!
All grants MUST be Breast Cancer specific! They also will ONLY be issued to 501 (c) (3) or governmental agencies.
