Volunteer as a 'secret shopper' for the Tennessee Tobacco QuitLine

Cindy Chafin shares this message from the TCCCC:

As you may know, the tobacco action team in middle Tennessee is facilitating a ‘secret shopper’ initiative as part of their action team activities. Brittney Fort is coordinating the efforts, and is in need of 7-10 volunteers to serve as ‘secret shoppers’. Below are duties of the secret shoppers. 2 $10 gift cards will be awarded to each participating volunteer, as a token of appreciation. Please contact Brittney Fort (contact information is below) if anyone is interested in participating. This is a PERFECT OPPORTUNITY for those interested in supporting the TCCCC – and tobacco control and prevention - who may not be able to attend meetings regularly. Please consider volunteering as a secret shopper!

Duties:
The Secret Shopper will be a "secret evaluator" of the Tennessee Tobacco QuitLine on behalf of the state Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Program. The role of the Secret Shopper is to:

  1. Assume the persona of a tobacco user as assigned by the Secret Shopper Project,
  2. Enroll in the Tennessee Tobacco QuitLine,
  3. Act out an assigned or agreed upon scenario, and
  4. Evaluate the delivery of services provided by the Tennessee Tobacco QuitLine.

As a Secret Shopper, volunteers are responsible for receiving and answering or returning telephone calls made by the Quit Coach or QuitLine staff, completing the evaluation forms provided by the Secret Shopper Project and returning them to the Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Program in a timely manner. A Secret Shopper can expect to receive 3 telephone calls from the QuitLine within the first 3 months of enrollment followed by calls every 3 months (3, 6, 9, 12 months). Full participation in the QuitLine's "I Can Quit" program will last approximately one year.
