What can be done to raise awareness about gynecological cancers?
Education and information are key to raising awareness about screening, early detection and treatments for gynecological cancers.
What would be some good information for a newly diagnosed patient?
Resources at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center through the Cancer Information program 1-800-811-8480.
Are there any other resources that you would suggest?
Online resources are an excellent source of information such as:
Women's Cancer Network - www.wcn.org
National Cancer Institute - www.cancer.gov
American Cancer Society - www.cancer.org
Any other insights that you would care to share?
I learn an enormous amount from the experiences of women diagnosed and treated with gynecological cancers. Most incredible to me is the women who find the time and energy to educate others about their own experiences. That insight is priceless.
